Egyptian Faience Scarab Bead 25x35mm Matte Blue Green and Brown

According to ancient Egyptian mythos, the sun (Ra) rolls across the sky each day and transforms bodies and souls. Modeled upon the Scarabaeidae family dung beetle, which rolls dung into a ball to lay its eggs, the scarab was seen as an earthly symbol of this heavenly cycle.

It is believed to be a symbol of rebirth and good luck.

Our lovely beads are hand carved from soapstone and antiqued to enhance the carvings. No two are exactly alike!  They are drilled lengthwise for easy stringing. Because they are hand made, sizes may vary.  Sizes given are approximate.

The beads are sold individually and measure approximately1-2/3 inches long by 1 inch wide (approximately 35mm long by 25mm wide) and 1/2 inch thick (12mm). The hole which has been drilled lengthwise, is at least 4mm wide.
