DAY OF THE DEAD
Day of the Dead (Spanish: DÃa de los Muertos) is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico and around the world. The holiday focuses on a remembrance, through prayer and celebration, of friends and family members who have died. It is particularly celebrated in Mexico, where it is a national holiday. The Day of the Dead celebration takes place on November 1, in connection with the Catholic holidays of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day (November 2). Traditions associated with the holiday include building private altars honoring the deceased using sugar skulls, marigolds, and the favorite foods and beverages of the departed. Gravesite visitation using these items (and possessions of the departed) as gifts is also common. We have a number of products in this category that can be used to decorate your shrine or altar for day of the dead festivities including papier mache Day of the Dead figures. Many of the items in this category are also suitable for Halloween activities.
