This Naga Eye white bone prayer mala (rosary) of 108 beads is an integral part of the Buddhist practice of meditation. Each bead is used to count the repetition of a mantra or chant. Bone represents the earth and our connection to it. Bone is also said to signify strength and to amplify prana (life force energy.) Prayer beads are used to count mantras. When using a japa mala such as this one, your fingers pass over one prayer bead for each time you recite the mantra. The naga eye beads are made from Buffalo bone and hand-carved. The tassel is cotton. This mala is 28 inches long and each bead on this mala is 8x9mm. There are two tassels with 12 counting beads. There is also a large guru bead on the center of the mala.
